培根《论读书》：
some books are to be read only in parts; others to be read, but not curiously; and some few to be ready wholly, and with diligence and attention.
有的书，只读部分章节；有的书，只是泛览而已；有的书，则须从头至尾，细细读去，一丝不苟。
原文：
Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested; that is some books are to be read only in parts; others to be read, but not curiously; and some few to be ready wholly, and with diligence and attention.
有的书可浅尝辄止；有的书可囫囵吞枣；只有少数的书，需咀嚼消化。换言之，有的书，只读部分章节；有的书，只是泛览而已；有的书，则须从头至尾，细细读去，一丝不苟。
