Angela Merkel was born in Hamburg,West Germany in 1954 and her father Horse Kasner was an official in the Lutheran Church,which ran in both Germanys after the postwar division of the country.As the oldest of three siblings she was raised on the outskirt of Templin in north of Berlin.They live in the seminary at Waldhof which belongs to Lutheran Church and has been remained home to disables.Although Ulrich,who manages the estate in the 80s and knew the Kaners, describes it as a grim place,but Merkel regarded the life here as an important experience of her life.
The fact that Merkel was upbrougt in a commuist state could be regarded as both liabilities and privileges.The Merkels have two cars:A standards East German Trabant and a more luxurious one;they received clothes and food from relatives in hamburg as well as money,but the church retained enough independance from the state and the whole chldhood of Angela Merkel has been suspected as an agency of western inteligence.
