Blockchain is a like a big ledger which holds all the money, every computer involved in the blockchain can contribute to the ledger. Now imagine that A sends 10 yuan to B. A sends the money and B receives the money, every computer involved in blockchain system can see the “send” and “receive” action. All the computers compete to record this deal, besides, the computers fight for the privilege to pack all the trade data during each 10- minute. The computer, which wins the game, packs all the trade data, the packed data is called a block.
Every block will have a number, a former block combines with a later block, eventually forms a chain in order, that is blockchain. The computer who packed the data will be rewarded with bitcoins.
In the world of blockchain, we can send money directly to others, there is no need to use a third platform. There is no center, it is a distributed system, every computer can record and pack the data. The most important, once the block is formed, there is nearly no hope to change the data. So the blockchain is a distributed, open, immutable database.
