Yanbin gave his first speech at our Toastmasters club, sharing three things he learned from his life - confidence, how to work efficiently and patience, and how he came to the United States for future personal development, trying to overcome the language barrier first and then pursue higher goals.
The entire audience (including me, of course) was amazed by his performance. During the entire time, he was calm and confident and didn't even peek at his notes. As a somewhat "seasoned" Toastmaster, and also a non-native English speaker, I know how difficult the first speech can be, recalling my time of doing the ice breaker. Very proud of him! Also, can't stress enough of what a wonderful place a Toastmasters club is if you'd like to improve your public speaking or communication skills.
