Wrote a review for my dear friend Adyen:
I seldom write any reviews, but I really have to this time. Adyen is by far THE BEST tutor I have ever found on AT. I have been learning languages on AT for a long time and have literally taken hundreds of AT tutors’ lessons. Every tutor is good in a different way. But Adyen really surprised me in terms of 1)how she truly cares about my learning needs, and 2) how proficient she is in teaching Korean and using visual aids (clips of kdrama, webtoon, pictures, kpop songs). 3) she is amazingly mentally mature considering her age (One precious lesson I took away from her session is that an excellent teacher is perfectly capable of teaching regardless of age and qualifications)
I have to admit I am a super picky student when it comes to online private lessons. I could easily tell when the tutor is using the same material for every student. So I knew Adyen would be the right teacher for me when she not only prepared a customized lesson for me but also being spontaneous and innovative when she teaches. During the trial lesson, she helped me practice Korean speaking around topics that interest me. I could really see she has individualized and designed that trial lesson ONLY for me. Not to mention, before the trial lesson even began, she reached out to me and asked me LOTs of questions to make sure that my needs are heard and met.
Thank you Teacher Adyen, you showed me the possibility that learning could be more than a torture or a game, but an interesting and unforgettable lifelong journey.
