"Not simply by fllowing an author's arguments, but only by meeting them as well, can the reader ultimately reach significant agreement or disagreement with his author."
但是,作者又提到了一句非常有禅意的话,叫做 "Is the reader understands a book, then how can he disagree with it? Critical reading demands that he makes up his own mind. But his mind and the author's have become as one through his success in understanding the book. What mind has he left to make up imdependently?"
