> 过了一阵子，一群孩子陆续走进衣物间，取出他们的球具穿上。之后我们全部来到外面，费拉斯教练召集大家，然后叫我站在大家面前，介绍我。他说了一大堆屁话，我不太听得懂，因为我吓得半死，从来没有人当着一群陌生人介绍过我。不过后来有些人过来跟我握手，说他们欢迎我等等。之后费拉斯教练吹了一声哨子，把我吓得魂都飞了，不过大家开始跳来跳去地练习。
> 接下来发生的事可真是说来话长，不过，总而言之，我开始打美式橄榄球。费拉斯教练和一名打手专门训练我，因为我不懂怎么打球。球队有一招阻挡对手的战术，他们尽力解说清楚，可是练习几次之后，大家似乎都厌烦了，因为我总是记不得我该怎么做。
> After a while a bunch of kids started comin into the locker room and takin out they football stuff and gettin into it. Then we all went outside and Coach Fellers got everbody together and he stood me up in front of them and introduced me. He was sayin a bunch of shit that I wadn't followin real close cause I was half scared to death, on account of nobody had ever introduced me before to a bunch of strangers. But afterward some of the others come up and shook my hand and say they is glad I am here and all. Then Coach Fellers blowed a whistle, what like to make me leap outta my skin and everbody started jumpin around to get exercise.
> It's a kind of long story what all happened next, but anyway, I begun to play football. Coach Fellers and one of the goons helped me out special since I didn't know how to play. We had this thing where you supposed to block people and they were tryin to explain it all, but when we tried it a bunch of times everbody seemed to be gettin disgusted cause I couldn't remember what I was sup posed to do.
