Today is Sunday.
I am going to read a new book, Corduroy.
Corduroy is a bear who once lived in the toy department of a big store. Day after day he waited with all the other animals and dolls for somebody to come along and take him home. One day a little girl came to the store with her mother. She saw Corduroy and said to her mother that he was the very bear she wanted. But her mother said she had spent too much that day. And the mother told the little girl that Corduroy didn't look new and had lost one button. Corduroy was upset when they walked away. He didn't realize that he had lost a button. So he decided to find it. When the door of the shop was shut and locked, he climbed down the shelf and walked around the shop. He found he was moving up on the escalator. He thought he must have been climbing the mountain. When he reached the up floor, he saw many furnitures. He thought it must be a palace. He walked here and there and found a small button on a bed. He thought it must be his lost button, so he pulled the button which was tightened on the bed. He pulled and pulled, then off came the button and he dropped down the bed. He made the loud sound which wakened the night watchman. Corduroy was carried back to the shelf. In the next morning, when Corduroy opened his eyes, he found the little girl just stood in front of him. She was going to take him back. She told Corduroy her name was Lisa. And she took all of her money and gave them to the saleslady. She then brought him to her home. What a small room she had. It was far smaller than the shop. But Corduroy liked it because it was going to be his home.
