Yesterday （On January 5，2018）I saw a pantomime called Charlotte's Web, which was performed by Olive Tree Class. Every performers did a good job in the pantomime. What a miracle they had made! They showed us: Life is really a miracle!
What happened? The Ivy Theater was empty when I went into it. Later I knew that the performance was delayed until 11 o'clock, not at 10: 20 !
Finally the performance began. Wilbur first appeared . He described his whole life:
This is a fairy tale about salvation and miracles
A story about the value and meaning of life
perhaps
You were the same as me
asking the question of "why and how to live"
Or perhaps
You have been helped and inspired by "that important person"
Then the following time
belongs to you...
On a rainy and windy evening , Wilbur was born. Unfortunately, he was a runty pig
The Arables were talking about the spring pig. Especially the children were happy to see Wilbur.
Old Wilbur is recalling his good memories . He was supposed to be a bacon and ham on Christmas Day , but luckily he had been lived for so many years. Who saved him?
Mr Arable was going to kill Wilbur, Fern stopped that bad thing in time.
Old Wilbur is recalling his good memories with Fern. It was hard for him to say good bye to Fern, but he had to go Zuckerman's barn.
After five weeks of happy hours with Fern, Wilbur came to Fern's uncle's barn. Soon , he heard bad news .
Day after day, Wilbur just ate and slept, he was tired of this life!
There were so many animals in the barn. One day , Wilbur wanted to play. So he asked horses, cows ,geese and other animals to play. but they refused him coldly ,they didn't even know what a play thing is !
Then came the rat Templeton . He walked and talked . He was just interested in eating, gnawing,spying and hiding. Look at his performance. How wonderful!
Wilbur was friendly to Templeton although he was unfriendly to him. Wilbur asked him to play.
but Templeton still didn't know what the word “play” means.
He announced that he is a glutton but not a merry -maker.
Suddenly came the bad news! At first, everyone wanted to hide the news from Wilbur, but Templeton told the truth.
What is a spring pig's destiny?
Do humans really love pigs? No, they just love pork, bacon and ham!
Now Charlotte appears! She comforted Wilbur with comforting words.
Wilbur and Charlotte became good friends. They decided to help each other.
Charlotte said she would think out a plan to save Wilbur.
Charlotte sang goodnight songs to Wilbur and then she began to weave a web .
After a while , Charlotte finished the web. This time , she weaved the words "Some Pig " for Wilbur. because she thinks Wilbur is something.
Wilbur became famous for the first time.
but people's passion and interest will fade away soon, so Charlotte had to think out a new good idea.
All the animals had a meeting to think out a good word for Wilbur.
At last, they decided on the word "Terrific".
After that ,Charlotte wove different words (some pig, terrific, radiant and humble) for Wilbur. And Wilbur tried his best to deserve the fame that Charlotte gave to him.
What will happen in the next scene?
Charlotte is weaving the last web for Wilbur.
The story comes to the end. Although the ending was sad, it's meaningful. The conversation between Wilbur and Charlotte was so touching that everyone in the theater was moved to tears! I couldn't help crying all the time! The principal's son performed really well! His fluent English, good intonation and proper emotions left a great and deep impression on our audience. What's more, that was the most touching and impressing pantomime that I had ever seen! Not one of the most touching ones! Really!!!
And finally the greatest promise of all a spring pig saw his first snowfall
It was as though Charlotte herself had shaken it out of the sky.
All because someone stopped to see the grace and beauty and nobility of the humblest creature.
That is the miracle of friendship and life ! It is not often that someone comes along Who is a true friend and a good writer. Charlotte was both . Life is really a miracle!
