Lou,the hostess of the host family, knocked the door and waked me up at 7:40 a.m.. Thank goodness ,time difference is none of my business.
After breakfast,Dennis,Lou’s father drove us to school. This old gentleman proved us what is gentility and preciseness. There are two bus routes to the Brighton Language Institute. First,he drove us to No.5&No.5A bus stop, then drove us home. After that he drove us to No.5B bus stop, then drove us home again. I was shocked about this cause the two bus stop is very near each other. Then he drove us to school. He is so optimistic and humorous. He drove us to the center of Brighton so we got to school late,he told us we can tell the teacher cause the traffic jam, haha.
The first class began at 9:30,Theresa,an intelligent lady introduced the general situation of the University of Brighton, the curriculum plan to us.
Then we registered on internet by ourselves. We were surprised of some questions such as “Is your gender identity the same as the gender you were assigned at birth?”. I thought this is a symbol of the civilization of a modern, open and tolerant country.
In the afternoon,we all got our student unicard and bus card. We were so excited cause we will back to school as a student, not a teacher.
It gets dark very early in winter in Brighton. We arrived home before 6 p.m.. After dinner we chatted with the host family. Andy, the host,he is a teacher too. But not a teacher at school. He teaches aikido,a Japanese system of self-defence employing similar principles to judo. He taught me some tips about aikido. That was interesting. He even knows something about Confucius ,Master Sun’s Art of War.
I think we are so lucky cause Lou said we can cook Chinese food by ourselves and we can do laundry whenever we like. There’s no much rules here. We just stay here like our home. I also like the two family members ,Mina and Stella.
Hope we can have a nice day tomorrow, good night.
