Almost ten years has passed, I still remember the very first day I stepped into my college .located in Mianyang which is two-hour train trip from Chengdu. At that time, my parents were making a living in Beijing ,which made it impossible for them to take me to the school. My father called my sister to do the errand of sending me there for him.
As soon as we arrived in Mianyang, we found some volunteers from sophormore, junior or senior in the colledge were there to give us guidance to get to the last stop.We took a 38 bus which slowly went through city center to suburbs .Under the help of volunteers, we soon got what a freshman needed and then found my dormitory. My sister made the bed for me and then we went to have a taste of the local special food.On that day, I met 3 other roommates the first time.We are all from different cities in Sichuan Province.
It took me a brief period to settle into the campus life when you didn't feel stressed and were left a lot more free time in comparison with high school life. These first days were spent getting to know classmates, looking for classrooms and tasting food around the campus.Boring or exciting, these days soon passed .The four years brought me a hard-won friendship ,first love and a more mature version of myself.
If I could go back in time, I would change my major from engineering management into English ,which probably could save me a lot of trouble after graduation.I spent another two or three years in trying to get a master of the language.I think it's called a detour on the way to where you what to go.The detour has carried my story of growing up ,which has built me into a brave, confident, and independent person with a dream.
