3D printing demonstrates one of the mostcutting edge technologies. Although the extruder body, the main component ofthe machine can be forged in traditional way, the machine can produce thingswith its magic ink-moltenplastic totally unconventionally.
A 3Dprinter shall be digitally managed by a computer so that the molten plastic, its ink, may be extruded through a tiny nozzle precisely. The nozzle moves aroundand prints one layer of the plastic on the pattern set up by computer program, waitingfor it to dry, and then prints the next layer.
Howis the machine built? A heater contained in the extruder body melts the plasticfilament. A hot end attached to 3d printed plastic mount. These two form the 3Dprinter tool head. An adhesive back polyester film is attached to the glass whichserves as the printer bed and the film will protect it from scratches during theuse. The printers usually adopt aluminum frames. Two rods are installedhorizontally so that some kind of rails are set up for the printer to move backand forth. A loop rubber belt are mounted on the side of the frames and linkedto the tool head, which allows the tool head to move along. The print bed isinstalled at the base of the frame to support the machine.
And now, a plastic filament is reeled intothe drill and the printer is to be connected to the power. It is ready to be activatedto work.
