Good evening my fellow Toastmasters. This is James Zhang,Today I will share my P1 speech with you，My topic is《life is simple》

I was born in 1987, during my past 30 years. Most people told me that life is hard,life is complicated ,life is amazing.But no one ,no one told me life is simple.

Tonight I will share 2 stories with all of you ,Maybe 5 minutes later, you will understand what I am talking about

My name is ZhangQiao,Zhang is my father’s first name and Qiao is the first name of my mother. When I was a little boy ，I really hate my name because it is too simple ,sometimes I envy those classmates whose names are very long or complicated, because I think they are very cool.But for me, simple short name.My parents do not take my name seriously and even too lazy to turn out the dictionary to find a cool word for me.

One Sunday morning , when I was 6 years-old.The Whole family was cleaning the horse up. I found a Book and opened it . It was a album which recorded the Wedding photos of my parents. I was too naive to ask ：“I can’t find me ,why don’t you take me when you are out for fun?”

My mother smiles:“It was 1986, you weren’t born yet.”My father came by and turned the album to the first page.“We didn’t know where were you going that day, but we record your name here, so you were always with us.” I was shocked by my father.Suddenly , I felt I have the best name in the word ever, because my parents love me so much and they gave me the unmatched names.No one could replace me,even if they have a second child. He or She couldn’t take my name.That’s the name only belongs to me , belongs to my family.That’s the first stories about my name, my simple name make my life full of love.

My wife and I spend last 3 years to create a light food brand called“Saladdiary”, that’s why people call us “Brother Onion”and “Sister Tomato”. In the process of running the business. Everyday I told myself that life is hard,I have to work harder,so I sleep less than 5 hours a day and reply the customer by we chat even if I am walking or driving.

The only way to make hard life simple is to find the priority , “What is the most important thing in your life?”

Everything we do, every minute we spend, is our choice,we don't have time to do x, y or z, because it's not a priority. I don't have time often means it's not a priority. If you think about it, that's really more accurate language.

I could tell you I don't have time to clean this room , but that's not true. If you offer to pay me 10,000 RMB to clean this room today, I would stop the speech right now and do it pretty quickly.

Since that is not going to happen, I can acknowledge this is not a matter of lacking time; it's that I don't want to do it. Using this language reminds us that life is achoice. You can choice both hard way or simple way. And granted, there may be horrible consequences for making different choices, I will give you that. But we are smart people, and certainly over the long run, we have the power to fill our lives with the things that deserve to be there.

Life is simple is not equal to life is easy, life is still hard,really,but we could live a simple and happy way.

Nowadays,before start doing my job.I spend 15 minutes to plan my work ,mark which is the priority and finish them one by one.I eat health food and fitness everyday.I spend 2 hours here every Wednesday with some guys called toastmasters even no one will pay me 10000 RMB

I feel full of energy and hope and love,just like 24 years ago when my father told me my simple name will alway be with them.
