Hi, everyone, good evening! Now it’s our story time. The story is for aged 2-6.
《Funny Fish》is written by Cynthia Rider and illustrated by Alex Brychta. The series of Oxford Reading Tree are used in 80% of primary schools.
By covering the names of each person, I will let the children remember each names. One is Mum, one is Dad, one is Biff, one is Chip, One is Kipper and one is... Yeah, Floppy. And let’s count how many people are there? One, two, three, four, five. What are they going to do? Each one with a fishing pole, Dad with a bucket, Mum with a net. Wow, fishing. Yes! And our family likes fishing, too. Please guess who will get fish at last.
Kipper was fishing. He got a hat.
Biff was fishing. She got a crab.
Chip was fishing. He got an octopus.
Mum was fishing. She got a bucket.
Dad was fishing. He got a boot.
Splash! Poor Floppy! Floppy got a fish. The whole family smiled.
It’s a short story with the similar sentence patterns. Children will remember them easily. And meanwhile, they will get the words ‘hat, crab, octopus, bucket, boot and fish.’ And we can repeat these words more than three times.
First our daddy and mummy can read one time or twice. Second, the parents can read with their children together for some times. At last, let your children read it by themselves. With the funny pictures, short sentences, laughing. You can spend nice time with the children.
After reading, let’s play a game as usual.
Tangled lines. Follow the lines to see who gets the fish. Children can’t wait doing this. Why not do it now?
