The Fortune-teller
fortune-teller sat in market-palce and told the fortunes of all who paid him.Suddenly a man ran to him and told him," Thieves have broken into your house and taken everything."
He was up in a moment, and rushed off, tearing his hair and calling down curses on the thieves.
The bystanders were much amused, and one of them said.
Our friend claims to know what is going to happen to others.
but it seems he's not clever enought to see what's in his own future.
Moral: Those who help others often cannot help themselves.
The fox and the crow
A crow, after stealing some meat, held it in her mouth, and sat in a tree.
A fox,seeint her,wanted the meat.
How handsome the crow is,"he said",in the beauty of her body and her feathers!
Oh,if her voice were as beautiful as her,she could be the Queen of birds!
The crow was pleased by the fox's nice words.
Anxious to prove her voice was also beautiful, she started to sing, and dropped the meat.
The fox quickly picked it up ,and said to the crow,
"Thank you! The beauty of your voice is equalled only by your intelligence.
Moral:Don't listen to flattery.
