Today is Friday.
The girls rushed out their house to the library. Through the high door and up the staircase they went. With each step, Sarah grew more despairing. Once inside the room, Sarah hung back, fearing to join the line at the "in" desk. Ella pushed Sarah towards the desk and the five girls fell in line. They found that the library lady had been a new one they had never seen. She was beautiful, her nails being clean, wearing tidy clothes. She looked kind and she must have dimples. A lady with dimples could never be harsh. She smiled when she saw the five girls wearing the same style of dresses in a line. She told them her name was Allen and asked them if they were from one family. Henny said they were called an all-of-a-kind family. And she also told Miss Allen the ages of them, she's ten, Ella's twelve, Sarah's eight, Charlotte's six and Gertie's four. What a steps-and-stairs family.
