Taiwan pop star apologizes to security officer after clash
CRI
The clash happened during Chou's concert in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi province, on Sunday, which was the second day of this year's Labor Day holiday. Upon seeing a security officer taking away a fan's illuminated sign[灯牌] and putting it on the ground, Chou first asked the officer to give the sign back to the fan, but he then shouted to the officer to get out of the site, using expletives[1].
[1]expletive[ɪk'spliːtɪv]
a word that is considered offensive
She dropped the book on her foot and let out a row/string of expletives.
Chou's behavior, while being hailed by many fans at the concert, also caused some controversy.
According to another policeman who was also working on the site, the fan stood on the chairand lifted her illuminated signagain and again, disregarding the safety and viewing experience of others and repeated warning fromthe security staff.
Netizens split into two groups after the video of the clash was put online. Some said Chou just wanted toprotect the rights of his fans, while others thought the singer didn'trespect the security officerswho were working tokeep orderat the concert.

Jay Chou: the actor and 'King of Asian Pop' that outsellsMadonnaandBeyonce
The Telegraph
Jay Chouis no stranger to Western audiences.
As a Hollywood actor, he was seen asmartial arts[武术]expert Kato inThe Green Hornet, a race starter inThe Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Driftand as Mr Li, the magic shop owner, inNow You See Me 2.
But he is also anaward-winningsinger-songwriter, with musical style that is influenced by rock, hip hop and blues.
His music career is so successful that he has sold more than 30 million albums, his music has been downloaded more times thanMadonna[麦当娜],Rihanna[蕾哈娜]andEminem[埃米纳姆].
If that is not impressive enough, Chou –dubbed[2]the “King of Asian Pop” – broke 11 Australian musical performance records with his 2009 concert in Sydney.
[2]dub:to give something or someone a particular name, especially describing what you think of it, him, or her 称…

Chou says his concerts are "all about nostalgia[3]and old school tracks", which his fans got to experience first-hand during his first ever concert in Europe - atthe Wembley Arena[温布利体育馆]in London.
[3]nostalgia[nɒ'stældʒə]
a feeling of pleasure and also slight sadness when you think about things that happened in the past
Some people feelnostalgiafor their schooldays.
But what Chou finds reallytouchingis when his early fans bring their children to his concerts.
This is his "musical heritage being passed on from one generation to another" and along with it, he hopes, "positive energy" too.
Chou also explains that concerts give him a lot of ideas for music.
One such example is a love song from his forthcoming album, which is due to be releasedlater this year or early next, was created after a show in China.
So how then does he feel his musical style compares to hisWestern counterparts?
"I don't think we ever need to compare each other's music. A musical style is something that's very personal andcomes from within. ”
"But, if I must compare mine to Western music, I think the biggest difference is that Western rap music hasviolenceandswearing[4]words, you wont find any in mine. ”
[4]swearing:rude or offensive language that someone uses, especially when they are angry
"The time that I did write a song about violence in families, it was because of a friend's situation and I was trying to remind everyone to pay more attention to the problems we have in our societies.”
"With regards tomy style, I am just trying to make music that sounds new and fresh for everybody. I am trying to show people stuff that's positive."
