之前给11月群译友做经济学人笔记的时候，遇到这样一个句子：
But another is that the brain-stretching potential of edtech has remained unproven.
但还有一个原因是教育技术提升才智的潜力尚未得到证实。
当时就觉得 brain-stretching 这个词好传神：adj.锻炼大脑的；提升才智的；扩展思维的
Stretch这个词有一个意义被很多人忽略了:
If you say that a job or task stretches you, you mean that you like it because it makes you work hard and use all your energy and skills so that you do not become bored or achieve less than you should. 使充分发挥
I'm trying to move on and stretch myself with something different.
我正试图换个工作，使自己在不同的事情上得到充分发挥。
Brain-stretching可以是充分发挥大脑的，那就是锻炼大脑的，提升才智思维的。
下次可以试着用stretch去替换take full advantage of这些词呢。顺便小小总结一下“充分利用”、“充分发挥”的邻居们~~
开头用我make the best of sth镇楼：
尽量利用，充分利用(时间、机会等)；尽情享用；(在不利条件下)尽量(或妥善)利用；善于处理(困难、问题等)
He can strive to make the best of life.
他可以努力奋斗，过好人生的每一天。
make use of sb./sth. : to use sb./sth., especially in order to get an advantage 使用；利用（以谋私利）
You can make use of the building materials that have been lying by.
你们可以利用那些被搁置不用的建筑材料。
We could make better use of our resources.
我们可以更有效地利用我们的资源。
optimise: to improve the way that something is done or used so that it is as effective as possible使最优化，使尽可能完善，使尽量有效
They need to optimize the use of available resources.
他们需要充分利用手上的资源。
take (full) advantage of: to use a particular situation to do or get what you want 利用某物（做某事）
I took advantage of the good weather to paint the shed.
我趁天气好给棚屋刷上油漆。
You’ll want to take full advantage of the beach-front clubs.
你会想在海滨俱乐部里充分享受一番。
put sth. to good use: 有效/充分使用/利用
The techniques that were refined in a bid to learn more about the quantum world are now being harnessed to put it to good use.
为进一步了解量子世界而改进的技术现在派上了用场。
put/turn sth to good account (formal): to use sth in a good or helpful way 善用；利用
Perhaps she could put some of her talents to good account by helping us.
通过帮助我们，也许她能把自己的某些才能充分发挥出来。
capitalize on sth.: to use a situation or something good that you have, in order to get an advantage for yourself充分利用
Ecuador has capitalized on its natural beauty to attract tourism.
厄瓜多尔充分利用其自然美景来吸引游客。
avail yourself of sth.: to accept an offer or use an opportunity to do something 利用〔提议、机会等〕
How many schools avail themselves of this opportunity each year?
