The 21st century is already seeing a much longer life expectancy, which is considered as a significant advance in medical knowledge. Despite this rapid progress, I have no confidence living beyond my three score years and ten or even more. As for me, oblivion is inevitable and the soul of life doesn't lie in the length itself, but in what we've done and whom we've met within our limited lifespans. Most preciously, with a focus on being honest with ourselves.
Something may only happen once in our lifetime, like the mysterious being of a Christmas Bus... It was a lovely morning, the sun was shining and the air was cool but sweet. I was waiting for the morning bus to work while chatting with a couple of nice guys. A fully decorated Christmas Bus naturally went into our eyesight and unexpectedly lit up our days. I was really freaking out by the sparkling ornaments hanging in the air as well as the shining stars fitted onto the bus ceiling.
What's somehow embarrassing was that my cellphone's camera has a rather poor performance so I decided to take my digital camera on the next morning. It turned out that the Christmas Bus was allocated to another route and I just missed it in such a miserable and reluctant way. I tried to comfort myself that someday I may encounter another Christmas Bus somewhere else but who knows what would happen?
This working and holiday is literally a once-in-a-lifetime unforgettable experience and every day is a unique one. I wanna live the most out of every moment and feel calm and peaceful at heart. Thus in the night when I go to bed, I won't have any regrets and could say to myself, "Well done, my dear Eva!"
