It is in the Morning when I was sitting in Starbucks. I suppose to study. There is something I want to record first.

The past several days were just amazing. I met several great people that inspired me a lot. 

1. Kevin.

Kevin is more of an old friend to me after I finished my job in his Lab. He becomes more open to me. I believe I am the same. There are some really good advice he provided. 

1. That I should never stay in one place for too long. If I have learned and finished my aim, I should dash in 2 years. 

2. Be more open about what's in your mind to others. This is a good one for me. By telling other people what's on your mind, they can help you and find the opportunity for you. 

3. Always follow your heart, you will be amazed by what you can do. TOTALLY AMAZED. that's his words.

4. You will remember that you are always surrounded by mediocrities. Smart people like you are 1 in a million, which means they can not possibly understand you. So just go for what you aiming for and fuck them.

2. Allen

I do not know Allen very well. However, from our conversation, I can sense his straightforwardness and his passion for his work. Very integrate and respectful scientist. Here is what he told me.

1), Find what is your passion and stick with that passion. His story is he went to Med school and drop out for science. "The bloody emergency doctor work is not for me." He said. "Therefore, I just went on with research and never look back. I do not regrete one bit."

2), It is very important that you have a great tutor and always open mind to the newest technology. That is his advice to me as a freshman in science. "Sometimes you should not go after the fame of the university, but after this person, wheather he is reliable and openminded in the area." Very practical advice.

3. Kuang

Kuang is definitely the most important tutor in my life till now. There are actually a lot that I still want to learn from him.

1), Always ask why. When he was showing the case of very difficult patients to doctors, he said it is very important to ask why this FSH rise? why LH rise? what is the endocrine reason for that? It is a really really amazing way of thinking. The quality that I wish I could learn from him THE MOST. This "asking why" way of thinking is so powerful. It was driven by curiosity and passion, then could generates a systematic knowledge that explains everything. LITERALLY EVERYTHING. If you could not explain everything, that means you have not figure out the mystery behind it, you should go on thinking. It also generates innovation which is the most precious ability in this world, no others can compete with that. I really wish I could have this way of thinking. This is very useful in every aspect of life. I hope I am lucky enough to remind myself of that every day.

2), Be innovative. The concept is big. Everybody knows it is important, but in a very vague way. Like you know Leonardo da Vinci is famous as an artist, but you do not know about his painting or why his painting is so great. In Kuang, I was lucky to watch how he managed to be innovative, in a way almost magical. I think everybody around him all noticed his magic power of innovation but very few think it through. Why he can be that great and innovative not me?! Why the brilliant ideas come to his head instead of mine? Actually, the reason is so simple, and at the same time, so hard. That ability comes from his genuine interest in this. He is interested in the difficult cases. He is, in no way, faking it. He simply wants to know. Therefore, he kept thinking, kept asking why. That drove him to want to know more, to look at literature, to always keep this question in the back of his head. Not because somebody pushed him to or the pressure. I remember when Kuang is giving a speech on how to crack the most difficult cases and his innovative strategy. I can see his eyes shining, he as a person shining from the inside out, even at that moment he is physically ill and his body is struggling to recover from cancer. If you see that moment, you will believe that kind of passion can conquer everything, and create amazing things. As his student, I am lucky to get to know him very well. That becomes the biggest fortune of my life. I also have this passion in me. I can feel it inside me, making me non-stop, craving for knowledge and force me to go beyond my previous self, to be smarter, to think more, to be curious, hopefully, to be innovative. I thanks Kuang for all he tried to show me and everyone else around him. I hope everybody finds it useful and finds out what will light you up in life and go for it without hesitation. I believe we all can make a difference as Kuang did and as he continues doing, making a history.
