Jonas Burgert
Jonas Bergert was born in Berlin, Germany in 1969. He graduated from the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts in 1996 and studied under Professor Dieter Hacker for a Master's degree (Meisterschueler). Every time he raises his pen, he will depict a stage: a scene with each stroke. Bergt's works perform endless dramas, portraying what he believes is the meaning of human existence: understanding one's own life goals. This is a seemingly inconclusive pursuit, but it opens the door to multiple fields such as reasoning, imagination, and desire. The huge canvas is filled with fantasy characters of different proportions.

The experience conveyed by Jonas Bogart's works and standing in front of a mirror. He reflects the deepest level of internal operation, our existence, allowing us to glimpse another place, open our hearts - or tear open a whole new universe.
This German artist mainly creates large-scale paintings that are decomposed and constantly mutated by objects, animals, humans, and whimsical entities. Tiny people and huge creatures overflow through cracks, rotting between petals or sinking into dim sheets, staring into the void. Bergt's paintings evade straightforward explanations, exploring higher realities, evoking the end of the world through personality, and possessing various inner lives. The theme is depicted as completely recognizable, despite symbolically carrying paint on the skin and wearing clothes made of plant fibers and rags by slender women. We constantly need to depict hope, failure, beauty, and confusion. Through his paintings, the artist strives to create a space dedicated to the spirit, representing ourselves - transforming the observer into a living creature, a character depicted in reality.

The art provided by Jonas Burgert successfully creates a brilliant illusion of tension between surface and space. The charming female image of the artist is caught in a tense state between recognizable and abstract. The overly elongated characters pose elegantly, adorned with ribbons and fluorescent colors, and their faces are simple and dreamy in front of the worn out walls. They were wearing bird necklaces, their eyes dazed, vines wrapped around their heads, and long striped robes. They are characters reflected in the void, and they observe their substitutes from it. Although these silhouettes help us understand the story of this painting, the abstract meaning of femininity is much stronger. No one mentioned them, but they are emotional and lively, achieving women rather than representing them.

Jonas Bergert:
"Through color, I attempt to document our current cynicism, as we are all subject to the media's spotlight and entertainment frenzy. This treachery, using constantly new consumer anesthetics to anesthetize us and destroy ourselves and the environment in the process"
