Dear Anne
I saw your name in Penfriends Magazine. I hope to be your penfriend. My name is Jessica. I’m fourteen years old and I am about 1.6 metres tall. I’m keen on drawing and playing badminton.
I live with my parents. My father is a manager and my mother works as an accountant. They are both successful in their work . I live far away from my school but it’s convenient to take a bus there. My school is beautiful and the teachers are friendly. What do you like doing in your spare time?
What’s the life in America like ? I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon..
Yours sincerely
Jessica

My school day
Every morning I get up early to catch the 7:00 bus to go to school except(除……之外) Saturday and Sunday. As soon as I get to school, I help my English teacher to collect the classmates’ homework. We usually do morning exercises with when it doesn’t rain in the morning. After that, we have four classes in the morning as usual. I have lunch in the school although it’s not delicious. Sometimes we take a catnap at noon. In the afternoon, we usually have three lessons and have fantastic after-school activities to do physical exercise or relax ourselves at 4:00 p.m. Our school day is simple but meaningful. I love my school day .

My Last Birthday
Last weekend I had my thirteenth birthday . I invited my friends to my home and had a nice party . My parents didn’t buy me a cake , instead they cooked a lot of delicious food for me as a birthday present. My friends also bought me a lot of presents , from which I realized I received not only presents but also friendship between us . Then we sang some songs and played some games . Though time passed very fast , we all enjoyed ourselves very much . I really felt love around me . I think it was a special and unforgettable day .

My Trouble
Have you ever had trouble in your life or study ?
How did you deal with it ?
How did you feel after you solved it ?
I love English, but my spoken English used to be very poor. I was really worried about it. And I didn’t know what to do. So I told my teacher my trouble and wished her to give me some advice. She advised me to keep reading English for an hour every day. Then I took her advice. Two months later, I made much progress in spoken English. I have understood that the efforts will pay off if you work hard.
