People’s life expectancy have improves in recent years, possibly because the improvement in medical technology and the increase in their wealth. While the elder generation play a paramount role in society(can contribute to society), I believe that the demographic change can bring some problems.

Admittedly, the rich experience and wisdom can be a valuable asset(少用被动) to society. If they care more about healthy life and take exercise frequently, they can live longer.(people can live healthier and longer life, as they pay close attention to healthy eating and exercise). They can work as a consultant to teach (to impart their knowledge and skill to )younger generation. For example, senior managers can inform young employees how to provide better service to their clients and how to manage the company in a accepted way. The society can draw upon expertise专家意见of old people. (While these advices may be outdated to accustom to the changing environment, the essences to succeeed never change.)

However, one problem associated with an ageing population is that the health care cost will increase, imposing great burden on taxpayer. It is acknowledged that most medical needs and costs occurs in their later years of life. That means the government have to pour more money on caring for the elderly, but other essential service like compulsory education and primary education will be under funded. This problem can have adverse impact on social progress since many people may not go to university without the financial support from the government.

In addition, the slow pace of work is another problem, with the increasing amount of senior population. Their ability of absorbing information and problem-solving declines with age. Many elderly people have a conservative attitude towards advanced knowledge and cutting-edge technology, their presence on the workforce can influence the productive of society and companies.

To summarize, the extension of life expectance stifle the medical care system and lead workforce less productive. While we can make use of their precious experience, the society progress will be compromised(constrained).

The increasing of life expectancy promote the pressure of medical care system and workforce efficiency. While we can make use of their precious experience, the society progress will be compromised.
