Slew is the past tense of slay .
metaphor
A metaphor is an imaginative way of describing something by referring to something else which is the same in a particular way. For example, if you want to say that someone is very shy and frightened of things, you might say that they are a mouse.
analogy
If you make or draw an analogy between two things, you show that they are similar in some way.
undercut
If you undercut someone or undercut their prices, you sell a product more cheaply than they do.
assimilate
When people such as immigrants assimilate into a community or when that community assimilates them, they become an accepted part of it.
inevitably
If something will inevitably happen, it is certain to happen and cannot be prevented or avoided.
exasperating
If you describe someone or something as exasperating, you mean that you feel angry or frustrated by them or by what they do.
