Today is Monday.
The three baby birds were Flap, Flitter and Pip. They were curious about Stellaluna's way of hanging. One day they learned to hang like her. When the mother bird came back, finding eight feet at the edge of the nest, she was scared. She asked the three baby birds back to the nest and asked Stellaluna to leave their home for she would teach the birds to do some dangerous things. Stellaluna didn't want to leave, so she promised the mother bird that she would never hang with her feet any more. Stellaluna and the baby birds grew bigger and bigger, until one day the mother bird told them it was time to learn flying. They jumped out of the nest and flipped their wings. They all could fly very well and they soon liked to fly, especially Stellaluna. They flew for so long and so far from their home. it was almost dark. Flap said, "We had better fly back home, because we are unable to see in the dark. We will hit on the tree." Stellaluna didn't think so, because she could see in the night as clearly as in the day. She flew further and the three anxious birds had to flew back without Stellaluna.
