Today is Friday.
Hyman was Mama's youngest brother. He didn't get married and neither had any children, so he often came to have dinner with the family. He knew that there were not much spare money in this family to serve him, so every time after he had had dinner, he gave some pennies to the children. So Sarah had some money to pay for her lost book and Charlotte and Gertie was going to buy some candy. They went to the candy store the next day and didn't know how to spend just one penny on so many candy they loved. They had discussed for a long time until they decided to buy the chocolate babies. Then they went to Mr. Basch's grocery store to spend the second penny. They told Mr. Basch that they wanted to buy some crackers. As the open cracker barrel held a most amazing jumble of broken crackers, it was unnecessary to worry about how to make a choice. A scoop from the barrel and into a paper bag went a tantalizing assortment.
