THE DAYcame slow, till five o’clock
Then sprang before the hills
Like hindered rubies, or the light
A sudden musket spills
The purple could not keep the east
The sunrise shook from fold
Like breadths of topaz, packed a night
The lady just unrolled
The happy winds their timbrels took
The birds, in docile rows
Arranged themselves around their prince
(The wind is prince of those)
The orchard sparkled like a Jew
How mighty ’t was, to stay
A guest in this stupendous place
The parlor of the day!

黎明渐渐露出曙光

喷薄而上
亦如枪膛
倏忽迸射的光亮
地球的东方
不只是紫色的光芒
初升的太阳
在羊圈的上方
摇摇晃晃
象美丽的淑女
将裹着暗夜的黄玉金边,
缓缓地释放
果园也如一颗珠宝
闪闪发亮
多么壮丽的景象啊!
来到这惊人美丽的地方
