今日读到这首《秋日》，恰巧这一首也被收编在《给孩子读诗》这本书里，又恰巧在我给儿子重读这本书诗，同时读到了《秋日》。

细心点，可以发现，作者国籍不一致，一说德国，一说奥地利，于是我到网上求证了下，
《秋日》是奥地利诗人赖内·马利亚·里尔克的作品，创作于二十世纪，诗歌以第一人称的方式叙述了在作者心中，上帝、人、世界三者之间的关系，颇具劝诫含义。
下面是英文译文，

Lord, it is time. The summer was very big.
Lay thy shadow on the sundials,
and on the meadows let the winds go loose.
Command the last fruits that they shall be full;
give them another two more southerly days,
urge them on to fulfillment and drive
the last sweetness into heavy wine.
Who has no house now, will build him one no more.
Who is alone now, long will so remain,
will wake, read, write long letters
and will in the avenues to and fro
restlessly wander, when the leaves are blowing.
