Where dost thou stand behind them all, my lover,
hiding thyself in the shadows?
They push thee and pass thee by on the dusty road,
taking thee for naught.
我的爱啊，你在哪里
你站在所有人背后
藏在阴影之中
在尘土飞扬的路上

对你视若无睹
I wait here weary hours spreading my offerings for thee,
while passers-by come and take my flowers, one by one,
and my basket is nearly empty.
我等在这里，展开我为你准备的供奉
苦苦等待，疲惫不堪
而路人走来，一朵又一朵地
拿走我的花儿
我的花篮里，已几乎空空如也
The morning time is past, and the noon.
In the shade of evening my eyes are drowsy with sleep.
清晨过去了，中午过去了
苍茫暮色中
我倦眼迷蒙，昏昏欲睡
Men going home glance at me and smile and fill me with shame.
I sit like a beggar maid, drawing my skirt over my face,
and when they ask me, what it is I want,
I drop my eyes and answer them not.
回家的人们瞥见我，笑了，令我羞愧难当
我像个乞丐般的坐着，拽起裙摆遮住我的脸
他们问我，想要什么
我垂下眼帘，不予回答
Oh, how, indeed, could I tell them that for thee I wait,
and that thou hast promised to come.
How could I utter for shame that I keep for my dowry this poverty.
Ah, I hug this pride in the secret of my heart.
呵，怎么能，真的！我怎么能告诉他们我在等你
而且你已经答应我，一定会来
我怎么能无比羞愧地说，我留作嫁妆的
就只是这贫困
呵，我内心深处
还紧抱着这份骄荣
I sit on the grass and gaze upon the sky
and dream of the sudden splendour of thy coming---
all the lights ablaze, golden pennons flying over thy car,
and they at the roadside standing agape,
when they see thee come down from thy seat to raise me from the dust
and set at thy side this ragged beggar girl a-tremble with shame and pride
like a creeper in a summer breeze
我坐在草地上，凝望天空
梦想着你来临之际，那突然绽放的辉煌——
所有的光芒闪耀，车辇上金旗飞扬
而他们站在路旁，目瞪口呆看着
你从你的座位上走下来
扶起尘埃中的我
让我坐在你身旁
这衣衫褴褛的乞丐，含羞带娇
就像藤蔓在夏日的微风中轻颤
But time glides on and still no sound of the wheels of thy chariot
Many a procession passes by with noise and shouts and glamour of glory
Is it only thou who wouldst stand in the shadow silent and behind them all
And only I who would wait and weep and wear out my heart in vain longing
然而，时光在一点点流逝，却依然听不见
你车辇的轮声
许多仪仗队伍，带着喧闹，荣耀地走过
难道只有你，宁愿在阴影中
默默地站在他们身后
而只有我，宁愿等待、哭泣
在徒劳的期盼之中将我的心

他们巻起朴实飞扬的尘土
无视的把你推向路口
我苦苦等着你
我为你准备了一份厚礼
穷困潦倒的过路人
拿走了我篮中的花儿
苍茫的暮色中 我倦眼朦胧
乡邻们笑我 不小心丢了花朵
我羞愧的低下头
我像一个丐女拽着衣裙遮着脸
我不敢告诉他们 我在等着你
记着你要来 仍在等着你
我怎能告诉他们 还在等着你
我思念在寂静的角落里
我把这穷困当作嫁妆
含羞的靠近你
这份隐密在内心的骄荣
不要惊动冰冷的世界
我依偎在你放晴的温梦里
我渴望茫茫宇宙 抚平我磨碎的心肌
在春意盎然的季节来临时
你宽厚的接纳我……
