Introduction
Apparently the march of technology in Major League Baseball(MLB) is more of a crawl. The basic tools of baseball have not changed or been substantially modified for a long time.It would seem that the bussiness goals of MLB are being adequately met with tools that are decades-if not centuries-old.
In particular, the baseball bat is pretty much the same implement that it was when Abner Doubleday walked the earth. It is not often that a tool persists basically unchanged without some improvement being brought to bear. Some began to wonder what the properties of such a remarkable tool might possess.
Summary
In order to build a Human Capital Network model inside an organization, our idea is to establish a comprehensive model with plentiful properties of nodes which are consistent with the actual situations. Therefore, the concept ofMultiplex Networkis introduced to enrich the nodes' characteristics. What's more, the notion of automation is applied to present the dynamic process within the company.
Based on the desire for simulating the reality more vividly, a multiplex network with specific assumptions describing the occupation distribution methods is selected rather than a single-layer network. Having considered about the relationship within the organization. The four subnets of the multiplex network areFriendship Network, Department Network, Leadership Network and Information Flow network. The multiplex network of the Human Capital Network is set up after connecting the four layers together. And the four effect indexes, namely, friendship influence index, department influence index, leader changing influence index and message influence indexare calculated to evaluate each subnets' impact on the personnels.
Since the static network is gained, the dynamic process is divided into five events covering common scenarios likedemission, promotion, transfer, recruitment and settlementto drive the network. Besides, some concepts are defined before the course of evolution. Moreover, thedemisssion indexconsists of the above four indexes and the occupation dissatisfaction index is proposed to measure the churn rate in the company. And the evaluation on the further influence on organization's productivity is conducted under the churn value of 18% in a decade.
The prediction about the company's budget in the next two years indicates the ability algorithm serving for the above five events. After simulations of the process, the total recruiting budget is 32.8 and the budget of training is 141.79.
The accuracy and stability of the Human Capital Network are proved by the sensitivity on the changing churn rate. And ICM can not sustain its 80% full status not matter the annual churn rate is 25% or 35%. Task five reflects the rationality of the construction method of the model due to the fact that ICM can sustain its 56.8% status under such extreme conditions.
key words: Multiplex Network; Automaton;Churn rate; Dynamic processes.
The company economic benefit were limited much when the company organizations were lengthy and jumbled in the past. And the appearance ofHuman resource(HR)as a newly-developing discipline marks the arrival of Knowledge Management era. Human Capital concept is put forward to emphasize the importance of human resource management within the produce performance. Hence, as industries move from manual to more managerial professions so dose the need for more highly skilled graduates.
HR specialists are hired to help senior leadership improve the corporate structure, provide mature officers continuing education projects and foster an enterprise culture. Especially, leaders intend to establish an effective company structure where staff can get work training and remuneration as they deserve. Besides, priority promotions are given to employees who are more experienced. These talent managements and team building aspects of HR management improve the sense of belonging of each clerk and rise the company outcomes.
Therefore, it is necessary to build a Human Capital Network to reflect the dynamic process of HR. Thus, it would be much easier for senior managers to monitor and control skilled personnels in order to prevent them form turning over. Moreover, analyzing the network enables employers to optimize Workforce Management for saving money and contributes to the remake of companies in the end.
Merge Better After Toll
summary
With the rapid increment of the traffic flow, the problem of merging after the toll barriers has risen public concern. In our paper, we aim to construct a model to find a better design of the area following the toll barrier.
First, we classify the area following the toll barrier which may already be implemented into eight kinds according to the different shapes, sizes, and merging patterns of the area based on the toll plazas in reality.
Second, we use VISSIM to do the simulation of the simulation of the typical eight models of the area following the toll barrier. Through setting the necessary observation points, we obtain the data of throughput, length of queues and the average time of delay we need in the following evaluation model.
Third, we build a comprehensive evaluation model based on PCA to evaluate the eight typical models and the optimum model we build. Considering the selection of the index. we choose the number of merging points to indicate accident prevention of the area, the length of queues, the throughput and the average time of delay to indicate the traffic capacity of the area, and the height of the trapezoid area to indicate the construction cost of the area. After data normalization, we get the best model which is in the shape of isosceles trapezoid with stipulated merging pattern and medium size of the area among the eight existing models.
Fourth, in order to obtain a better solution, we build two models to obtain the optimum solution. The first one is a differential equation model aimed at acquire the optimum height of the trapezoid area and the optimum number of tollbooths. The second one is a linear programming model which can calculate the optimum merging pattern while maximizing the throughput of the area.
Last but not least, we analyze the performance of our model under various conditions, and modify our model to accommodate to those conditions. Also, we use Lingo to construct sensitivity analysis of the linear programming model.
To sum up, our model is a feasible and reasonable model which can accommodate to various situations.
