Today is Wednesday.
Amelia's father put the seashell up to his ear and talked to it as though it were a telephone. He gave the shell to Amelia's mother and she also listened to the shell. She said, "I hear something, but it isn't the ocean."Amelia caught the shell and wanted to listen, but she suddenly shouted,"Get it off me! Get it off! Get off!" It was a baby hermit crab which latched on to her earlobe.
Early in the next morning, Amelia's father said,"Come on guys. We have got a date with a chartered party boat." Amelia and Jason didn't want to get up so early. Amelia's father told them,"This is a fish-catching party. We’ll have a whale of a time—I promise!" Amelia liked fishing. They were soon aboard a fishing vessel. Suddenly there was a prolonged blast from the ship's horn. What was that for? A small man told them it would tell everyone that they were leaving the pier. And it was the rule of the road, which means a set of customary practices, especially for the operation of a motor vehicle, boat, or aircraft, established to promote efficiency and safety.
