Day 010 Drop the bomb of words of today before Zs

01.

I love Chinese characters. They are so cubic and square, containing the nuclear power and righteous spirit inside and embracing a history of thousands of years. But somehow, I don't have the same much passion to learn all kinds of Chinese words and phrases as I have to acquire English ones. My ex-girlfriend once called me banana man (Chinese people with yellow eastern face but with a white western heart). I don't think so. For a long time, as a lesbian whose physical gender is female and mentally one the opposite, I hold the belief that there is no such a thing as sexual orientation, and it applies to the language-use preference as well. More and more words are shared in differed languages, such as casino, a word from Chinese to English, sushi, from Japanese to English, girlfriend in Japanese, from English. This is like a melting pot of language.

And as China's peaceful rising and its large population all along, Chinglish is playing a big role in the English speaking countries. For example, the well-known ones: long time no see, no zuo no die, Dama, Tuhao. Plus take the advantage of China having the Chinese alphabetic writing that resembles a lot English words and is really easy to pick up into consideration, you'd never know what is going to happen in the constantly changing world of the language.

Maybe I should've written some longer pieces because short ones usually don't do much improvement to ones logic construction. And that's exactly what I'm in short hand of - a decent logic-wired brain.

03.

Have you ever heard about the word syllogism? I came up against this word long time ago, but before I even know it, I'd had already forgotten that I have forgotten this word. But today, I ran into it once again in a book. And this time, after it rung a bell in my mind, I decided to give it a thorough VIP treatment. I looked it up in the Youdao dictionary, its meaning as follows:

syllogism/ˈsɪləˌdʒɪzəm/

1.Na deductive inference consisting of two premises and a conclusion, all of which are categorical propositions. The subject of the conclusion is the minor term and its predicate the major term;the middle term occurs in both premises but not the conclusion. There are 256 such arguments but only 24 are valid.Some men are mortal; some men are angelic; so some mortals are angelic is invalid, while some temples are in ruins; all ruins are fascinating; so some temples are fascinating is valid. Here fascinating, in ruins,and temples are respectively major, middle, and minor terms 三段论

This ostensibly seems like a very complicated and toilsome definition for a word with -ism as its suffix. But after finishing the reading and analysis of it with a little bit extra patience and respect, you can find it indeed intriguing - the way it defines the major, middle, and minor terms. I'll reorganize the valid one mentioned-above here for you in my way so as to make it more intelligible and easier to process.

Some temples are in ruins;

all ruins are fascinating;

so some temples are fascinating.

Here, fascinating is the major term; in ruins is the middle terms, and temples is the minor term.

FASCINATING showed up on the stage twice and it was also the adjective to describe the conclusion which made it the MAJOR role in the interlude.

IN RUINS showed up twice as well, however, it played a role of a premise and connection respectively in the first and second sentence, therefore, making it the middle man here.

TEMPLES is the subject of the result of the deduction sentence, sharing its part as the MINOR one.

See? Sometimes, things can be fun based on imagination and decent nonsense. Because for your information, I have no idea if what I was doing is right or wrong.

04.

Last but not least, celebration comes on the fourth: I successfully transcended the counting number of day from one digital to two. There's a phrase in Taiwan - Xiao Que Xing. You can call those moments in your life that make you feel those moments are the reasons why the living is totally worthy of living as Xiao Que Xing. Tons of millions of those Xiao Que Xing in ones whole time in the world make a man's body and soul.
