I happened to read the article about health on the Economist a few months ago.It was about fasting .It said there are different forms of fasting ,like 5:2 intermittent fasting, alternative-day fasting and time-restricting fasting.People fast for different purposes .Some fast for religion and spirit, while others pracitce it as a source of health.
The 5:2 intermittent is a form of well-known fasting which has been backed by some studies and people's practice.The 5:2 fasting means eating normally for five days and consuming less than 500 calories for two days in a week.It is said that this fasting can help you lose more weight than the way you eat a little every day.I did some search on the internet to comfirm if the itermittent fasting could really do the trick .I found out that some people had tried it and become advocators.
Based on the successful experience of others ,I gave it a try ,hoping to be healthier .It wasn't that difficult for me to follow the rules .I ate normally except for Wednesday and Thursday .If you choose Saturday and Sunday,it becomes tougher because eating-out activites are always arranged on weekends.It was almost impossible to take less than 500 calories in these activites.However, I quitted a month later since some signs showed I lacked nutritions.Now I am uncertain about its effect.
A heathy body is the ensurance of everything.We should put it at the very first place to keep healthy.On the way to staying healthy, we should seek the ways that make sense and benifit you most so that we can avoid getting more kicks than halfpence.If you want to try fasting, please do more research about it and make your choice.
