- A New York Police department official says the driver in the deadly bypass attack has been planning it for weeks and had handwritten notes in support of the IS. The suspect identified at 29 year old Sayfullo Saipov who had entered the US legally from Uzbekistan in 2010.
- Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer is hitting back president Trump who blamed him for the diversity visa lottery program that allowed the New York attacker to enter the United States. Schumer who tried to eliminate the program 3 years ago says the president should lead and unit the country.
