As an English teacher in a senior high school, I have to get up early every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. To do what? To superintend the students to read and recite aloud in the morning. It begins at 6 o'clock, so we all have to get up at about 5:30.
Earlier when I was single or even after I got married but without the child, I always found it very difficult for me to get up on time. However, things have changed a lot ever since I became a mother. I don't know why, but I can wake up even before the alarm clock rang.
No doubt that there are a lot of things to do as a mother, but my awareness of arranging all the things in a proper order has also been strengthened. Thus everything now seems go even more smoothly than before. This is what I didn't expect.
Earlier I seldom cooked for myself, just buying some take-away food from some restaurants. So basically I'm a lazy person, I think. However, now, I will go straight to the supermarket to buy some fresh vegetables and then go back home to cook for the family. Sometimes I admire myself for this great change.
For the first few months after my little boy came into the world, I was anxious about almost everything to do with him. I was not sure whether I could take good care of him. That is a struggle I think all the mothers must experience. Although he went through many falls and suffered from several flus, he grew healthy. Thank goodness! Now he is one year and ten months old. I am very proud of him. He doesn't need to be breastfed any more, he can eat all by himself and he knows when to use the toilet. What's more, he doesn't need to wear the baby diapers any longer. Sometimes he can even sleeps through the night without having to pee. All the family members love him very much, thinking him easy to bring up.
Time flies, especially for the recent three years. Now I am expecting my second child, though I don't know whether it's a girl or a boy. No matter what, babies are hope for me. Despite the fact that it's been a little uneasy for me to do the daily work and routine, I still feel it good to do them because an energetic mother is what children want. So I am willing to make it.
I managed to ignore the pain in the leg to get up early every day. I made dinner for my family as often as possible. I played with my son to give him all the love I can afford. I gave lessons to students with as great enthusiasm as before. I corrected their papers even more carefully than before. Every little change in my body and heart was brought mainly by babies. And hard as it can be to support the family with two children , I think I will always enjoy what happens in the whole process.
I'm never afraid of dark hours in life, because I always believe I can walk from dark into light, just like I getting up in the dark at 5:30 and riding to school with daylight every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
