VARIANT
1. 英英释义：something that is slightly different from the usual form of something
例句：Meituan, Pinduoduo, and similar products are simply a number of variants of the same idea.
2. 为什么选这个词？
“variant”是可数名词，意思是“变体、变种”。虽然这个词最常出现在科学类文章中，很多其他主题的文章中也可以碰到。当我们想表示一个事物和另一个事物本质上是一样的，但略有差异，就可以说A is a variant of B。我们还可以在给别人介绍一个比较新的事物或概念时使用 variant，便于对方联想和理解。variant 后面接介词 of 或 on，意思一样。这个词可以体现使用者对英文词汇的掌握程度，在口语和写作中都可以使用。我们来看几个例子。
