Even thought we search for the equality between man and woman, and many of us women can share the same resource with men, there are still many women in many countries are treat inequality. Maybe you want to deny, but it is a fact that the world is still run by the man now. For example, on the list of Chinese leaders, most of them are men and women only take less than 5 seats. It maybe better in my company, but the percentage is still less than 30%. Do women's capability poorer then the men? I don't think so. Actually, in the USA, girls are increasing outperforming boys in the classroom, earning about 57% of the undergraduate and 60% of the master degrees. Across Europe, 82% of women aged twenty to twenty-four completed at least upper secondary education, compared with 77% of men. Then, why? Well, there are many reasons. The blatant and subtle sexism, discrimination, sexual harassment are some of the obstacles. But most importantly, the internal barriers by women themselves will hold them back as well. Lack of confidence, fear to do the incorrect thing, fears the bear the responsibility. Fear of the change. Not raising the hands to ask for anything. On the country, most of women just sit there and wait for the opportunity to come. Sadly, I think it is talking about me. I always sit before my desk and wait for the boss to tell me what to . It is so cruel that really upset me. There is still one point we couldn't ignore that sometimes many women still see ambition as a dirty word. If a woman wants to ladder up in her career, she is probably described as "bossy". This recall the memory of mine that in my childhood, my mother used " ambitious" to described me because I wanted to chase for all the good things and the power. Trust me, it was not compliment but criticism when she used the "ambitious" . When come to this, education and marriage are also the factors. Educations on girls are less important than the boys’ and parent will emphasize the marriage. To get a good man is the most important thing to woman. It is still very common among us parents, especially in the poverty regions.
When talking about picking a job, I think most of us will prefer the "big" company, with higher salary, comfortable working environment, less responsibility. However, when Sheryl considered whether chose Google(At the time, Google was still a unknown startup) or other better companies, her friend Eric told her that the only one criterion mattered when picking a job is fast growth. When companies grow quickly, there are more things to do than there are people to do them. When companies grow more slowly or stop growing, there is less to do and too many people to not be doing them. It is like chose a stock, in a way. The most worth buying stock is not the one most people buying in, but the one which is undervalued. However, we still have difficulty in making such decision, especially when most of us just focus on the immediate interests.
