On Wednesday evening, we went to the Town Hall. It wasthe last day of the year and a large crowd of people had gathered under theTown Hall clock. It would strike twelve in twenty minutes' time. Fifteenminutes passed and then, at five to twelve, the clock stopped. The big minutehand did not move. We waited and waited, but nothing happened. Suddenly someoneshouted, 'It's two minutes past twelve! The clock has stopped!' I looked at mywatch. It was true. The big clock refused to welcome the New Year. At thatmoment everybody began to laugh and sing.

难点:town, hall, suddenly, true,
suddenly 是ˈsʌdənli
其他同学的点评问题:went的wen;hall的l音可以加强;clock的o发[a];twelve的we;move的咬唇音v;waited的语调;watch的a发[a];stop的o发[a];everybody的咬唇v, o发[a]
time发音不饱满,Suddenly的n感觉没发出来,t would strike中would的d不用发音
