In the far end of the dark forest, on the stone street where birds wouldn't stay and every leaf rustling every water dripping from the the roofs of the grey stone houses could be heard.
There was an old house with a green roof. An old man was sitting near a small stove, staring at the fire dancing with the black wooden boards. They were his door.
The old man took a bite of a hard brown bread. His teeth cracked a little with every bite. He saw birds flying by in the morning. They were flying south to the warm and beautiful land. He knew it was going to be winter, and going to be cold, lonely.
All he could remember was the spring. It was the same year, but the village was totally different! It was small but peaceful. Trees danced and flowers smiled. The children laughed with joy as they ran by flying a kite. The old man sat gracefully, drinking tea and watching the children playing. His wife had passed away a few years ago. He was sad, but not lonely. He had the entire village for company.
This is how I would leave this world, with the village forever, he thought. However, things don't always work out as planned.
The village was located near a dark forest. Animals often search for food in there. Behind the village was a hill. The villagers couldn't get woods in the forest because it was protected by the government. All the villagers protected the forest, but they could get the woods from the bushes on the hill. The forest provided them with meat and the hill provided them with berries. Life couldn't be better, so they thought.
The day came. It was raining like crazy, and the small puddles became small lakes. The villagers stayed inside but it didn't help at all. Suddenly they heard a rumble, then the ground began to shake. Everyone came out to see what was going on, but they regreted that a big river of dirt rushed down the hill like it was an angry lion. The whole world went black....
The old man closed his eyes, his heart ached even thinking about it. Luckily some were still alive, half of the village went to heaven.
The old man opened his eyes. He walked out of the small old house. A leaf grew out of a tree. It was green small but beautiful.
The old man smiled.
