I don't remember since when I'm getting to lose control of my ability to focus on one thing. The outcome is apparently so negative that any stream of distraction could draw attention away from what's happening at hand, which keeps me suffering from a great sense of frustration. Maybe this unhealthy habit has already been accompanying me for decades and it's definitely not that easy to get rid of it within a short time frame.
However, what's comforting is based on a renowned US psychologist Danial Goleman's research, the ability to focus is like a mental muscle. The more we work it out, the stronger it becomes. And just like the importance of muscles to the human body, the ability of concentration is crucial to the human soul. What's most inspiring is that he even clarified, "The more focused we are, the more successful we can be at whatever we do."
Yup, time to take it serious so that I could finally say farewell to the annoying distraction! As I'm right now studying for a language test in the coming January, I'd like to give the preparation process a go and make efforts to turn it into an effective and rewarding experience.
1. Have 100% confidence and trust in myself. I can, I come!
2. Manage the priorities of what I'm supposed to do daily! Never be a greedy guy!
3. Practice self-management and focus on a task until it's completed!
4. Follow Pomodoro technique and make sure to avoid mental fatigue!
5. Hold breath when encountering distraction and then have a deep breath for a relief!
6. Keep motivated and on track to learn English, which is my ultimate pretty love!
Focus is the hidden ingredient in excellence. Let's just embrace it cheerfully!
