it's the hardest thing, right? what's your advice about for giving up sugar,or alchohol alcohol or other addicted (obsessive) behaviors?
actually ,I don't suggest that people fight with themselves ,and they or avoid or giving up anything.
because that's a violence that fight yourself.
because that would constitute violence against yourself.
I learned from M, who developed a non-violence communicaton system.
instead of breaking (takeing away)bad thingthe bad),you should add good things. you add something good.
and you will find the exciting and interesting new habits can replace the bad habits in a naturally way.
that will naturally substitute.

one of my findings is that the willpower is very finite resource.

we have no infinite willpower, so we have to use it contiously in a short distance.that doesn't fit in marathons.
we don't have infinite amounts of willpower, so we need to use it sparingly on short distances.it's not for marathons.

my advce is that when you are starting a new habit and you think it good for you.
what I suggest, when you're establishing a new habit that you feel that is right habit for you.

you have to use a little bit willpower to repeat enough times.

I have no idea, but this magic number appeared regularly in the different tradition from eastern or western or psychology.

and this is also my personal practice and is very useful.
and I saw it in my own pratice that it works.
