单词:

1. appear v. 扮演、出现

-She often appears on the stage.

2. stage n. 舞台 on the stage 在舞台上

-A group of pop singer are giving a performance on the stage.
-The stage is being cleaned right now.

3. bright adj. 明亮的 + color + n.

-She's wearing a bright red drees. I find her very attractive.
-If you park your car in the wrong area, you'll find a bright yellow ticket on your car soon.
-This bright green skirt is the most beautiful one I've ever seen.

4. stocking n. 长筒袜

-My gf asked me to buy some stockings for her online.
-He told me that I looked nice in long black stockings.

5. sock n. 短袜

-I will leave a note and ask him to wash his socks. It smells terrible.
-Oh my god, these blue cheeses remind me of my bf's socks.
-I have just received some socks from my mom.

6. grown-up n. 成年人 adj.长大的,成人的

-I don't know want to sit with the grown-ups. I want to go and play with the other kids.

问题三:must VS have to 用法异同?

must:

肯定表必须(主观):-present/future: I must do it.
-past: I had to do it.
否定表禁止:
-You must not open that door.-语气强烈
-Don't open that door.
-You can't open that door.
-You'd better not open that door.
一般疑问句:Must提句首、have to提句首.

have to:

肯定表必须(被迫):-present/future: I have to go to class today.
-past: I had to go to class yesterday.
否定表不必:-present/future: I don't have to go to class today.
-past: I didn't have to go to class yesterday.
一般疑问句:-present/future: Do you have to leave today?
-past: Did you have to leave last night?

have got to——一般应用于口语

问题四:must VS can't 推测用法?

1.对现在很确信的肯定的推测,一定是:

-must do\ must be adj./n.\ must be doing.

2.对过去很确信的肯定的推测,一定是:

-must have done\ must have been adj./n.\ must have been doing

3.对现在否定推测:一定不是:

-can't do\ can't be adj./n.\ can't be doing

4.对过去的否定推测:一定不是:

-can't have done\ can't have been adj./n.\ can't have been doing.

ex:

-The restaurant must be very good. It's always full of people.
-The restaurant can't be very good. It's always empty.
-What are you doing? Don't tell me, let me guess.
you must be reading. you can't be watching TV.
-He must drink a lot of milk.
-George is outside his friend's house. He has rung the doorbell three times, but nobody has answered. They must have been gone out. (go)
-Jay walked pass me without speaking. She can't have seen me. (see)
-The phone rang but I didn't hear it. I must have been asleep.
-Why didn't he answer the phone? He must have been sleeping/ He can't have been watching TV.

S1: Have you really got to go now?
S2: I'm afraid I've got to. I have to meet my husband.

2. work-finish my essay/study for an exam

S1: Have you really got to work now?
S2: I'm afraid I've got to. I have to finish my essay.

3. go to bed-get up/ leave early tomorrow

S1: Have you really got to go to bed now?
S2: I'm afraid I've got to. I have to get up early.

4. leave-learn my part/ rehearse the play

S1: Have you really got to leave now?
S2: I've afraid I've got to. I have to learn my part.

5. practice-sing in/give a concert next week

4T: fly-pick up a sick sailor

S1: He must be mad to fly anywhere today!

12. climb-search for/ rescue a mountaineer

S1: He must be mad to climb anywhere today!
S2: He had no choice. He had to search for a mountaineer.

13. drive-meet his wife at the airport

S1: He must be mad to drive anywhere.
S2: He had no choice. He had to meet his wife at the airport.

14. go-attend speak at a meeting

S1: He must be mad to go anywhere.
S2: He had no choice. He had to attend speak at a meeting.

15. walk-get some medicine/ post the letters

S1: He must be mad to walk anywhere.
S2: He had no choice. He had to get some medicine.

My aunt Jennifer is an actress. She must be at least thirty-five years old. In spite of this, she often appears on the stage as a young girl. Jennifer will have to take part in a new play soon. This time, she will be a girl of seventeen. In the play, she must appear in a bright red dress and long black stockings. Last year in another play, she had to wear short socks and a bright, orange-colored dress. If anyone ever asked her how old she is, she always answers,' My dear, it must be terrible to be grown-up!"

习惯用语:

1. at least 至少

4. It must be terrible to do sth. 做某事糟糕
