I finished reading this book at a book store last Saturday. The story attracted me so much that I spend only about 1 hour's time on reading the whole story.
The story is short and simple, the President neededone person to send a message to General Garcia who lived somewhere in amountain in Cuba.
Nobody knew the exact place. Ayoung man named Rowan accepted the one sentence task, and fulfilled the task perfectly
No excuse, only fulfilment. That’s the only criterion for a Soldier. Complete the task perfectly, this is the ROWAN'S faith.
Nowadays, too many people just take their work as killing time, and that’s why lots of people can’t fulfill their work. Also, there are lots of people who always complain about everyone around him, how strictly the boss is, andsoon. All these complaints not only bring nochange for him, but also turn him into a caviller, bring darkness to his job, thus miss chances again and again.
No matter what kind of difficulties he faces, Rowan tried his best to find the way to solve the problem. At last, after givingthe message to General Garcia, Rowan also overcame all difficulties, and took the feedback information from General Garcia to the President. We can tell, the communication is bidirectional. If Rowan couldnottake back the feedback to America, the task would be a failuretoo.
Meanwhile, we need to learn from Rowan and his assistants about how to take priority when facing different problems. Which is the most important? And which is the most urgent?
This book is instructive in all aspects: attitude, method, fulfilment, result-oriented behavior. I recommend you all to read it when having time.
