Today is Monday.
Pippi made an enormous dough and rolled it out on the kitchen floor. She said to Mr. Nilsson what earthly use the baking board was when someone was going to make over five hundred cookies. She lay on the floor, cutting out cookie hearts. When she heard the bell rang, she rushed to the door and opened it. Tommy and Annika stood there. Pippi welcomed them with her hands sticked with flour and she pat the apron, making so much flour in their throats that they couldn't help coughing. Pippi answered Tommy's question of what she was doing that if she told them she was cleaning the chimney, they wouldn't believe and they were right. She actually was making cookies and she had almost done. She asked them to sit and watch her for a while and then she made the cookies as fast as possible. Tommy and Annika watched Pippi doing throught the dough, throwing cookies onto the cooky pan, swinging the pan into the oven. They thought it looked like a show in a circus.
