From theseventeenth-century empire of Sweden, the story of a galleon that sank at the startof her maiden voyage in 1628 must be one of the strangest tales of the sea. Fornearly three and a half centuries she lay at the bottom of Stockholm harbouruntil her discovery in 1956. This was the Vasa, royal flagship of the greatimperial fleet. King Gustavus Adolphus, 'The Northern Hurricane', then at theheight of his military success in the Thirty Years' War, had dictated hermeasurements and armament. Triple gun-decks mounted sixty-four bronze cannon.She was intended to

play a leadingrole in the growing might of Sweden.

As she wasprepared for her maiden voyage on August 10, 1628, Stockholm was in a ferment.From the Skeppsbron and surrounding islands the people watched this thing ofbeauty begin to spread her sails and catch the wind.

练习感悟：虽然有些地方打结，有些地方读得不是很正确，但是录了两遍就达标的情况还是让我感到很庆幸，因为这篇是真的很难，拗口，生词多，而且时长也比较长，我还以为我今晚要读非常多遍才能达标的。
