Syme had vanished.文章开头就写了Syme被蒸发了，可见Party需要什么样的人，什么样的人是安全的。
The weather was baking hot.
the windowless,air-conditioned rooms kept their normal temperature, but outside the pavements scorched one’s feet and the stench of the Tubes at the rush hours was a horror.
环境描写，形容天气非常热
The preparations for Hate Week were in full swing,准备工作进行的如火如荼
以及这一段期间出现的各种血淋淋的场面
之后提到Winston和juliade 的两人世界，以及这种梦幻般的生活给Winston带来的慰藉。
Julia所谓的对党的反叛是随意的，并没有任何安排，因为Julia在并没有经历Winston年轻时候的社会，所以有一种盲目崇拜包含在自己的感情中。
“It’s always one bloody war after another, and one knows the news is all lies anyway.”
By lack of understanding they remained sane.这是Winston对Julia的反抗意识的分析，也是两个人之间存在的代沟。
接下来的一章里，O’Brien出现了。
a chilly shuddering feeling had taken possession of his body.冰冷的颤栗袭遍全身。
跟O’Brien的见面让Winston感觉到紧张，觉得自己好像离死亡又进了一步。
之后Winston做了一个梦，又想起了自己的父母，联想到Julia，Winston觉得是自己害了自己的家人，但从中也发现人性的伟大，他相信群众也是有人性。
