Hello, Everyone, I'm Roger Federer. For P1 speech, i would like to introduce me. Just now the host introduced me as the King of tennis. I feel quite embarrassed, even though I'm the King.
But I'm not born as a King.
Before 2002, I had to go through very tough times – I lost many times in a row in the first round. I also lost 2 finals(and later some more). Because I was too young, and not so experienced. Also my tennis skill was not so professional at that time.
I didn't think that because i lost 14 times in the first round ,I'm the loser. I can make it big on the ATP tour.I knew this is just a part of the learning and growing process that every player goes through. I practiced harder, smarter, learned his lessons and moved on.
In the early years, i had to go through very tough times – I lost 5 and 7 times in a row in the first round in 2000. Many players would make the conclusion that they can't make it, that they are losers and so on. But the past does not define the future unless we decide it to. I didn't think that because i lost 14 times in the first round that year i can't make it big on the ATP tour. I practiced harder, smarter, learned his lessons and moved on.
I also lost 2 finals (and later some more) and didn't allow that to become his nightmare scenario. I knew this is just a part of the learning and growing process that every player goes through.
Where there's a will, there's a way.
2003 is my tennis season, it's Roger Federer year.
7th, July, 2003. It was a unforgettable night at Wimbledon. I won the final over Mark Philippoussis. Everything is fresh for me, and I was so nervous until the Judger called my name: The champion of Grand slam males single at Wimbledon in 2003 is he or she ? Roger Federer.
All of the applause and flowers fly towards me.I'm so proud of myself, it seems i'm the king of tennis.
In the following years, i become undefeated.
The champion of US open, the champion of Australian Open is Roger Federer...
Again and again,
I has won 17 [Grand Slam] singles titles, the [most in history] for a male tennis player. I has held the[world No. 1] spot in the ATP rankings for a record total of 302 weeks. I stood on the top of this sport.
Unbelievable achievement.
At the same time, I earned much money because of my performance. as well , I won many fans all over the world. Where I appear, where they scream.
Everything went well Until 2013, i was already more than 30 years old , injured sometimes because of fierce completions year by year. i lost lots of games, and even nobody could beat me.
I show the sign of slowing down.
Things got worse in 2016, my knees injured again and which couldn't bear to fight in the court.
People judged i was too old to compete any longer, they judged i couldn't win a game any longer. I was the king, but only was. I want to fight against these rumors, i want to say 'shout up' and show them my ability. But my broken body doesn't allow me.
Followed by a long period of rest, even though no one trusted me, but i didn't want to give up, i had to be fully recovery and come back one day.
It was the darkest moment in my life, fortunately my family are always with me ,Mirka and our two twins. You're right, I'm the twins discovery father.

2017, i crowned my 8th Wimbledon Championship without losing one set. I burst my tears that night especially when the judger announced the result: The champion of Grand Slam signal titles is Roger Federer.
I again become the greatest tennis player in the world. People ask me what's behind the tennis legend.My answer is quite simple:
The past couldn't define the future unless we decide it to.
