I have been a member of a writing association called 007 for more than one year, during which I consistently hand in a piece of writing once a week and never be interpreted by anything. Insisting on it for so long time makes me start to think why could I have done this. May be the answer is the values of writing.
Speaking of the values of writing, people might have hundreds of answers. Since I am fan of brevity, I conclude the values into 2 items, which are
1. clear up my mind, which is the value to myself.
2.Useful and enjoyable to others while reading, which is the value to others. What’s more, you can be famous and therefore earn money of fame if your work is useful or enjoyable enough, to which extent you have your own intellectual property, which is a reliable way to get financial freedom.
The value of writing is so high that only the first item can be enough for me to keep on for the rest of my life, because writing really helps a lot in improving your thought quality and your evolvement , and thought quality is directly related to your life quality while self-evolvment is the happiest thing for me. Are there anything else more attractive than those?
As for the item 2, it has an overwhelming benefit that you can never ignore, which is the possibility of consistent influence on people, neglecting of time and distance. Think about it, your work could be read by readers in the future and aboard, you have the intellectual property which on no one can deprive from you. Money and fame? That’s only the by-product of it.
How can people achieve it? To my humble understanding, the key points are as follows:
1 .Contents. This is the first priority of a remarkable work. How to make up excellent contents? I have two suggestions for you, which are more input and good questions.
2. Being readable. Chinese four major classical novels and western famous operas can be spread for hundreds of years, depending not only on its contents but also due to its readability. Considering that it is a “quick time” now, and most people don’t have much patience to read a long article without a catching title, distinctive composing, and only intensive letters. As a result, to improve the hits of your articles, I recommend that you pay more attention to the above mentioned items.
Even though the value of writing is huge, you can enjoy none of it before getting started. May be you are not a good writer now, yet you have to know that no one is at the beginning and believe me, you will be constantly getting better as long as you keep on doing it.
