Hello, everybody, I'm Millie, from inner mongolia. My TIP number is 75. It's my honor to be here to share my "Story of Three apples". I have been a teacher for about twenty years but I never think I am a good teacher. so l am always on my way to chase my dream to be a good teacher. Maybe l'm a slow walker, but l never walk backwards.
At first, I want to tell you a story . Once there was a little boy who had three apples. His mother said to him:"good man, would you mind giving me an apple? They look so delicious!"
But no response from her "good man", instead, the little boy immediately give every apple a bite. "Oh,my God, is this my beloved baby?!"
The mother felt extremely disappointed. She felt her love and education for the boy are all in vain. But shortly after that, her little boy gave one apple he just bit to her and said "mom, this is the sweetest one!" The little boy gave every apple a bite just to choose the sweetest one for his mother! Then the mother melted in her mood and moved to tears. She was ashamed for the misunderstanding of her boy.
Everything has its own reason, so never be too quick to judge, never make a hasty decision, just think twice before action.
The story provokes my deliberate considerations. When I was young, I have enthusiasm for my job, but I have no way to be a good teacher . I made the same mistake as the mother. One day, when my students were quietly studying in our classroom, a boy in my class broke the window glass suddenly and violently ,the explosion frightened all of us, pieces of glass here and there. looking at my students' frightened faces, I felt extremely angry and punished him without hesitation in public. He was crying fiercely without any words. Two days later, he dropped out of school and I never saw him again. However, I felt sad after I know the reason for his behavior. It was said that his mother was seriously ill and they had no money for his mother's treatment. Maybe he would lose his mother forever. I hated myself at that time. I was ashamed of what I had done. When my student needed me, what I gave him was not a helping hand but punishment! I will remember the story and if possible,I want to say sorry to the boy, not for forgiveness, but for the improvement of myself.
It is not terrible to make a mistake, but it is terrible to make the same mistake again and again. Everything has its own reason, so please slow down and think twice before action.
For students, teacher is influencial and make a great difference in their life, so we must act as a mother or a father. To love them , just like love our own childern. To encourage them, just like encourage our own children. When it comes to "encouragement", do you remember "Blue Ribbon" in our "MoMo" time? Who You Are makes diffetence. Who I Am makes difference. Blue Ribbon stands for our Love and Encouragement ,we should give it to someone aroung us who need it . For our students, what they really need is our love, our encouragement and our correct guidance.
A good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others. Actually, I don't like the sentence, but to some degree, it is true. It's necessary for us to improve ourselves all the time. It is never too late to learn.
Mistakes are painful when they happen, but years later, the collection of mistakes we call experience will lead us to success.
I hope the speech has encouraged everyone to be a good teacher. Thank you. Thank you for your listening.
