I don't write poems, but love to read and really can enjoy some of them.
I think to be a poet ,or writing a real poem one needs a deep soul and a sensitive mind. Without that everything he writes must be too superficial.
Some are tend to write some promising poems, of course that's good. Like great Indian poet Tagore, he has written many promising poems which make you feel how beautiful life is , how benevolent and gentle and peaceful universe is, how alive everything around you. His poems bring you energy , hope and a sense of beauty. That's because the writer , himself really knows well life as well as universe . He can sense things from deep down of his heart as he writes.
But some people tend to do the same thing and only writes about sunshine . Of course it wouldn't work well. Because you don't really feel the sunshine . What you writes must come as naturally and unless it must be too artificial and superficial .
The sense of sunshine comes from going beyond darkness. How is it possible that one always see the sunshine even no touching with darkness. You can say something nice ,of course , escaping from seeing terrible things. But it definitely stop you going deeper in soul and make you like a feather that is always fly on the surface . It cannot be a good poem .
